I just received my new Restoration Hardware Modern book. As many RH-philes know, most of their pieces feature an industrial French country look. RH Modern is a new branch focused on capturing the high-end mid-century modern look that many San Francisco techies and well-to-do professionals want in their homes and offices. As someone in the startup space, I know first-hand how many offices are now meant to feel more like a home space.
Restoration Hardware has hand selected top designers from around the world. I apologize in advance for the poor photo quality, but these photos aren't available online anywhere yet. You're the first to see them!
Let's start with options for the living room. The Wave Chaise in Tibetan Wool, pictured above, adds a sense of glamour and old Hollywood to your pad. If wool isn't your style, try it in linen.
Their Alex Task Floor Lamp deserves a special highlight as it's one of my favorite in years. Most floor lamps feels so generic and overdone. This lamp is minimalist with a touch of character. For some reason, I can easily picture this lamp coming to life in an animated GE commercial.
Just add a bar cart in the corner and this room is ready to entertain guests.
If you prefer a softer look, this sofa may be your next true love. The velvet makes the room feel plush and inviting, while the tufted fabric gives is a sophisticated look. And don't even get me started on the gorgeous blue that can make any stateside living room feel like it's right at home in the Netherlands.
Moving on to their bedroom designs, there's one thing that immediately caught my eye.... their canopy beds! I love how the straight lines add an architectural feel to a bedroom. Many of RH Modern's beds are available in four-poster bed options.
If canopy beds aren't your style, perhaps you'll fall in love with their custom made diamond tufted headboard beds. The blue fabric is the perfect choice for those who are looking to add a touch of European design to their sanctuary.
To pull it together, add this armoire for a grounded look.
When it comes to bathroom design, I'm a huge fan of a vanity mirror above each sink. It adds detail and sophistication, especially with a sconce on each side. In comparison, one large mirror above dual sinks can feel so middle America circa the 90s.
When picking out bathroom lighting fixtures, these sconces are the most versatile.
And finally.....(drumroll).... office space! Since any RH Modern shopper will likely need their own home office, here are some terrific looks.
